In the eCommerce technological rat race, the “race” is often literal. Ulta and Instacart’s recent partnership now promises one-day delivery for beauty consumers needing quick access to their favorite products. This partnership helps Ulta keep up in its fast-moving industry, where speed and convenience are key. It’s also a big step for Instacart as they expand into new areas, like beauty, while continuing to show an affinity for innovation and improvement.

Target Grows Holiday Sales in 2024

Target’s holiday season in 2024 was a win, driven by upgrades to its digital shopping experience. Digital Commerce 360 highlights how Target’s improvements to its app and expanded delivery options made it easier than ever for customers to shop. These moves both improved sales and proved that Target is attuned to what today’s consumers want: convenience and efficiency during the busiest time of the year.

Unlocking Regional Grocery Potential

Grocery and CPG brands are embracing eCommerce, but according to Forbes, retail media can be a double-edged sword. With the majority of ad spend, and attention, being directed towards the large national marketplaces of Amazon, Walmart, and Kroger, retail media at that scale is simply more efficient than what can be done with local grocery chains, where most Americans still do their grocery shopping.

Our Take: Since smaller chains still provide higher margins to brands on average, there exists an opportunity for these grocery stores to improve retail media functionality without losing their main advantage: profitability.

German eCommerce Sales Rise for First Time Since 2021

Germany’s eCommerce market has finally turned a corner. After years of decline, Reuters reports that sales have risen, attributed in part to high consumer confidence. This growth matters: As the largest economy in Europe, Germany’s rebound could set the region into an upswing. Also, this is a wake-up call for retailers to innovate and meet the evolving needs of a cautious but increasingly optimistic shopper base.
